Siddhartha Khosla – Only Murders in the Building (Main Title Theme)
The “Skip Introduction” button was first brought to us via Netflix in 2017 and, I know, a lot of people use it – myself included. But, if I can put myself in old man mode, back in my day for a second, I have so much affection for the opening theme music of so many shows. This is your chance to set the mood for whatever you’re about to see. One of the intros I have Never skip is the animated opening title sequence of Only murders in the building, which is a Hulu show that debuted in August 2021 and is now in its third season. It was created by Steve Martin And John Hoffman, and it stars Steve Martin, Martin Court, And Selena Gomez. All three play neighbors who live in the same apartment building in New York, and they’re all obsessed with the same true crime podcast. And then, when someone in their building is murdered, they decide to start their own true crime podcast and try to solve the mystery of who the killer is.
For this episode, I spoke to the composer of the series, Siddhartha Khosla, to the musical theme of the show. Ahead, you’ll hear a voice memo that Siddhartha recorded before he even knew about the series, which then led to a demo you’ll hear, and ultimately the ending theme.
You can buy or stream the Only murders in the building main title theme here.
