The Night Court revival series will return with a Christmas special before Season 2 premieres in January.
THE Night Court the renaissance is about to return with a standalone Christmas special episode which will be broadcast on December 23 at 8:30 p.m.
“It’s Christmas at Night Court,» reads the official logline. “Abby enlists Dan in her quest to find a little girl’s letter to Santa. Gurgs’ gift for Dan is not what she expected. Olivia is haunted by a witness who thinks he is the ghost of the Christmas present.” THE Night Court The Christmas special will also feature NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in a starring role. Fans won’t have long to wait for the Second Season of the series, which is scheduled to premiere on January 2 at 8 p.m.
New Night Court the series revolves around “Unapologetically optimistic Judge Abby Stone (Melissa Rauch), the daughter of the late Harry Stone, who follows in her father’s footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan impeachment court and attempts to bring order in his team of eccentrics and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding (John Larroquette).“The launch of the series gave NBC its best comedy premiere Since Will and grace in 2017, so it’s no surprise they’re ready to want more.
Our own Alex Maidy re-watched the series and was pleasantly surprised. “Night Court is a sprawling, multi-camera sitcom that tackles the camera, cracks silly jokes, and manages to feel like an homage to all the funny shows we watched in the 1980s and ’90s,“, Maidy wrote. “Unlike some recent reboots like Murphy Brown And Will & Grace, Night Court works because it mixes classic elements of the series that inspired it by bringing back legacy characters but also adding a new main cast that echoes the original series without being carbon copies. Fans of Night Court I should enjoy this new series quite a bit, but I hesitate to think that many new viewers will be as enticed by the old-school style and jokes of this throwback.» You can check out the rest of Maidy’s review here.
