MANILA, Philippines — Jack Animam is heading to Australia, signing with the Ringwood Hawks in the National Basketball League 1 women’s division.
Philtimes – an Australian media outlet – reported on Maundy Thursday (Manila time) that Animam was playing for the team based in Melbourne, Victoria.
The Gilas Pilipinas Women star is expected to make her debut for the Hawks on April 3 against Norwood Secondary College.

Ringwood, who is yet to win a title since joining the league in 2019, is excited to have Animam ahead of his new season.
“We are incredibly lucky to bring Jack to Ringwood, we have been following his journey for a while now and we are really excited to finally have him here.” Ringwood coach Jeremy O’Toole told the Philtimes.
The 25-year-old center became the second Filipino basketball player to play overseas after Kai Sotto played two seasons in the NBL with the Adelaide 36ers.

Animam is on her fourth stint abroad having played in Serbia, France and China, where she signed with Wuhan Shengfan last year.
The National University product played in 35 games for Wuhan in the China-WCBA, averaging 11.4 points, 12 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.1 steals.
The 6-foot-5 Filipina returned to action last year after an ACL injury and competed in the Gilas women’s silver medal at the Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.
