São Paulo, Brazil (CelebrityAccess) — German entertainment company BMG announced the promotion of Daniel Fernandes to general manager for Brazil.
In his new role at BMG, Fernandes will oversee the BMG team in São Paulo and work closely with Julio Vieira, Vice President of Finance and Operations for Latin America (Latam).
He succeeds Jasmina Zammit, current Managing Director and long-time BMG employee, who will take on international responsibilities at the company’s headquarters in Berlin.
“I thank Jasmina for her trust and look forward to working with our incredible Brazilian team and further developing our local catalog. The opportunity to lead the BMG Brazil team is both an honor and a privilege and I am delighted and excited about the journey ahead,” said Fernandes.
“I’m very proud of the foundation we’ve built over the past five years, but now it’s time for a local to take the company to the next level. Daniel has a great passion for music, excellent leadership skills and an extensive network, so I am delighted that he has accepted this position,” added Jasmina Zammit.
Fernandes, who joined BMG in 2022, most recently served as senior A&R director of the regional office, signing and developing artists such as Élcio di Carvalho, Ariel Donato and Raffa Torres. His past experience includes a management role at the famous Brazilian label Som Livre.
