Veteran action star Jean Claude Van Damme is set to star in the action thriller Kill them botha sequel to the 2017 film. In the first film, a mysterious stranger arrives at a local hospital on the verge of death, and an FBI interrogation reveals an international revenge plot.
The sequel will be filmed on the Caribbean island of Antigua in January and will see “Phillip (Van Damme) and Suzanne retire from the spy game, living peacefully off the grid.” Until Vlad, the vengeful brother of their target from the first film, discovers their whereabouts.
Andrea Iervolino, CEO of ILBE, said in a statement: “I am delighted and honored that Jean-Claude Van Damme has agreed to be part of this exciting project. The beauty of Antigua, with its unique atmosphere, will provide an extraordinary backdrop to the production of this film. This initiative not only reinforces our commitment to the film industry, but aims to help strengthen cultural and collaborative ties between Europe and the West Indies.
Antigua and Barbuda Ambassador Dario Item added: “This initiative is an important step in strengthening cultural and artistic ties between nations. We are happy to support a project that not only promotes the art of cinema, but will also help raise awareness of Antigua and Barbuda around the world. We welcome this production as an example of transcontinental collaboration that will bring lasting benefits to our communities.
You know, these small, low-budget action films can be fun, but Van Damme should be doing bigger and better things.
