Of all the topics Joe Biden’s White House didn’t want to see in Sunday’s Washington Post, this one had to be at the top of the list.
The capital’s official newspaper on Sunday published recordings of President Joe Biden’s brother, James, busy erasing his famous last name in the late 1990s.
Nor could the fact that the recordings were made by FBI investigators have made things easier in the Biden household.
THE Publish an article was titled “James Biden’s Negotiations Filmed by FBI in Unrelated Bribery Investigation,” and the words alone must have been unsettling at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
According to the Post, the recordings came to light after the Post received permission to review University of Mississippi records compiled by author Curtis Wilkie, who wrote a book about attorney Richard “Dickie.” Scruggs, a larger-than-life figure in the world. world of law who engineered the historic $248 billion legal settlement in 1998 with the tobacco industry over its sales of a carcinogen.
Scruggs’ career didn’t end with the tobacco settlement — it lasted until 2007, when he was caught in an FBI sting operation trying to bribe a Mississippi judge.
And it is into this trap that the voice recordings of James Biden appear – not implicated in corruption himself, but clearly as a figure whose last name meant a lot to those trying to curry favor with Washington.
Scruggs, according to the Post, became acquainted with the Bidens while trying to get a tobacco regulation through Congress. For this, he needed the support of Joe Biden. And for that, he turned to James Biden.
“I probably wouldn’t have hired him if he wasn’t the senator’s brother,” Scruggs told the Post. echoing similar words we will talk later about Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.
“Jim was never unhappy with his influence,” Scruggs said, according to the Post. “He didn’t brag about it or talk about it. He didn’t have to. It was this man’s brother.
To be clear, the conversations in which James Biden was recorded by the FBI were deleted as part of an investigation into Scruggs and his associates – not James Biden.
But they captured a glimpse of James Biden’s influence peddling — and that was precisely when his brother was a senator, not vice president.
Two of the tapes can be found in post X below.
The first is that of Tim Balducci, a lawyer and Scruggs associate who was considering going into business with James Biden and another man as partners in a “consulting group,” as the Post puts it. He was describing to James Biden a conversation he had with Scruggs about his hopes for the fledgling company.
“I told him we made our relationship with you official,” Balducci told Biden during the Sept. 27, 2007, conversation, according to the Post.
“I talked to him about Washington’s real presence, that it wasn’t going to be some bullshit, you know, a shingle hanging on the window somewhere. That it was a real deal, that Sara was becoming, you know, as a designated partner, an equity stake in the company, that we were changing the name of the company to include her. …Hunter was going to be involved, and you were going to be involved.
Yeah. With Hunter and James Biden – with James’ wife, Sara – this was going to be the “real deal”, right.
The second is of James Biden speaking – apparently again to Balducci – on October 15, 2007, about James Biden’s potential role as a consultant to the chief of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, who had requested the Office of Affairs Indians to use 100 acres of tribal land to open a $375 million casino. This would require approval at the state and federal levels, where “consultant” work would come into play.

In the article, WAPO accuses Joe Biden, James Biden and his wife, Sara Biden, of being involved in influence peddling:
“What emerges is a story of money, politics and influence, stretching from Mississippi to… pic.twitter.com/K0466W0LRq

“You know my hesitation to be, you know, an opportunist if everyone jumps on it,” Choctaw leader James Biden said. “There’s nothing wrong with being opportunistic. Sara just rolled her eyes at me. So, but being a bitch about it, OK, you know, like everyone’s jumping in, like, “Let me take care of your insurance, let me take care of your legal stuff.” »
Well, God forbid anyone thinks of the word “whore” in relation to any Biden. (It is more polite to refer to Hunter’s doxies as “prostitutes.”)
None of these phone calls ever achieved much. As the Post reported, the new firm of “consultants” Balducci, James Biden and Steve Patterson, a man Joe Biden met through his Senate segregationist colleague Democratic Senator John Stennis.
Patterson was an aide to Stennis who became chairman of the Mississippi Democratic Party and chairman of Joe Biden’s first presidential campaign in 1988.
However, just before it opened, Balducci had what must have been an unpleasant discussion with the FBI, who confronted him with an attempt to bribe a judge on Scruggs’ behalf. Balducci became an informant against Scruggs.
This sort of thing can hurt new business plans. In another issue, Patterson found himself trapped and served two years in prison, according to the Post. Scruggs was sentenced to about five years in prison for his role in the judge bribery case as well as another case, according to the Post. And Balducci was sentenced to two years, according to WLBT-TV in Jackson, Mississippi.
So, out of three potential business partners in the “consulting group,” two ended up in federal prison and one is still the brother of the current President of the United States.
This should reassure Americans that the Biden family is beyond reproach.
According to the Post, the White House declined to answer written questions about the matter.
James Biden’s lawyer, meanwhile, downplayed any interaction between the Biden brothers in a business sense.
“Jim Biden’s counseling work never included speaking with or providing access to his brother to this or any other client,” attorney Paul J. Fishman told the Post, likely by email.
As for the conversation that included the “bitch” line, Fishman told the Post that James Biden “discussed a potential opportunity to sell insurance to the Choctaw tribe, but he never pursued that activity.”
And as for James Biden’s involvement with Balducci and Patterson, Fishman told the Post: “More than fifteen years ago, Jim and Sara Biden had serious discussions…about creating a firm that would provide services legal and advisory. This company never saw the light of day. Jim and Sara were not aware of or involved in any unethical or illegal behavior” on the part of Balducci and Patterson.
Of course not. Why would he think otherwise? It’s just Biden’s damn luck that the family keeps running into crooked Mississippi lawyers, questionable foreign associates, the best chinese spiesand who knows how many Eastern European women, supple and attractive, with uncertain virtues?
What might be the most interesting part of this whole exercise, however, is exactly why the Washington Post is looking into it now.
After all, it was the newspaper that was published carry Joe Biden’s water since he announced himself for president in 2019.
This is part of the cabal of establishment media and social media giants who have downplayed the problem. Hunter Biden Laptop Story in 2020 to an almost criminal degree.
But now he’s actually interested in a breath of scandal surrounding the Biden family’s tortured history of shady dealings?
Whatever it is, it’s a safe bet that it’s not what the Biden White House wanted to see in the local newspapers this Sunday.
